Features and benefits: Lucerna siata or simply lucerne is a blue leguminous herb that can also be found in Slovak meadows, although it originates in Asia. In traditional Chinese medicine, it has had its irreplaceable place as a medicinal herb for over 15 thousand years. Alfalfa seeds are very nutritious, they are a source of many vitamins (A, E, C, D, K, B6), minerals (iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus) and phytosterols (substances that have a positive effect on fat metabolism). Sprouted seeds enrich every meal with vitamins, minerals, fiber, proteins and enzymes. In addition, they are a very tasty thing that looks great.
By germinating the seeds, we activate enzymes that make the sprouts easily digestible. In addition, the amount of essential amino acids increases in the grains during the germination process, and the content of vitamins and minerals increases many times.
Use: Sprouted or natural alfalfa seeds can be added to salads, pasta, soups, baked goods or when preparing vegetable smoothies.
Instructions for germination: Soak the seeds in water (preferably filtered without chlorine) for 8-12 hours. Let the seeds germinate in the germination container for 4-6 days. Rinse the seeds 2-3 times a day during germination. Fully germinated seeds ready for consumption measure 2.5-5 cm. The ideal temperature for the whole process is 20°C and a dark place.
