Ground cinnamon
Latin name: Cinnamomum cassia
Chinese cinnamon comes from southern China, but gradually spread to Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan. The plant can reach a height of over 10 meters, but on plantations it is cut and maintained at a height of about two meters. The bark of this cinnamon is harder, has a denser structure and a single layer. Cinnamon contains the natural toxin coumarin.
